Seeded Cables Cardigan

Matthew comes home TOMORROW! So that being said, I'll leave you with pictures of my newest cardigan:

(I was on the phone with him when this was being taken). Let's see, I started it January 13th and it was finished on April 6th. Hazza! it went into timeout a few times and I didn't work on it for weeks at a time so this is by far the longest time it's taken me to knit a sweater. It's the Seeded Cables Cardigan (rav link) from Sensual Knits (learn to test knit before printing a book). I used Zara yarn in some un-inspiring numbered colorway that I swapped with a friend from knit night. The color is gorgeous!

As for other knits, I'm on the toe decreases of Pomatomus socks by Cookie A (did you get her new book? I did!) and another Large Triangle shawl from Greetings From Knit Cafe (rav links again). The shawl is in dark gray instead of the nutmeg and won't have the tassels since they were so tedious to make. Since we have to wait around on base for about 4 hours before the guys will be dismissed, I'm thinking I'll bring both the sock and shawl to work on. Next time I post, Matthew and I will be in the same picture again!!! Have a lovely weekend everyone and happy Pagan/Christian holiday (easter)!

Not yet but 10 days!

Hubby will be home in 10 days. Which is funny considering I said that he *could* be home in 10 days (that's the advance party and they got back on Saturday). In any event, I've been away because I *gasp* haven't been knitting...Ok so that's not entirely true, but I've nothing to show for it. My Seeded Cables Cardigan is off being seamed up and the sock I'm working on is about to be ripped for the 3rd time and I haven't been taking pictures of the st-st shawl I've been half assing. And by half assing I mean a row or two before I put it don't and wander off elsewhere.

But then, I'm almost caught up on school-I'm currently on Spring Break. I've done no knitting (or studying-must get on that) but tonight is knit night so perhaps... Also, I've been doing a ton of sewing. OH! And I finally got my Asian Themed quilt (and my Asian I do mean the fabric has cherry blossoms on it) from the quilt shop, take a look:

But the back is by far my favorite because of the color!

Isn't it gorgeous?! I also finished an adorable apron:

And am almost done with my first needle roll. :) And check out what I scored for $188 (pre-taxhike) from an antique store in AMAZING condition:

(the chair not the cat...he cost more)

So hopefully I'll have more to show you soon when I stop being lazy(ha ha ha) and and get my butt in gear.

Woooo! 10 days!

Are you game?

The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It'll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it's going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!Who's in?

Where TIme Drags on

I've not too much going on in my life, it's all sort of fallen into a rut. Get up go to school, com home, do homework (knit night if I'm lucky), go to bed, Get up and so forth ending the week with work and then starting all over again.

School has been kicking my arse and I'm sad to say I'm still not nearly caught up in some classes. 9 books for one class if that's any indication for you. There has been a little bit of knitting on the Seeded Cables Cardigan (I've finished the back and front left part) and a pair of st-st socks, as well as a quick knit beanie. I'm at school however so I can't do much more than show you the back of my Cardigan and I will hopefully get a reprieve soon:

Computer Woes

I'd show you my two latest projects that I finished (a Chevron Scarf and Pillars of Fire socks) but my computer died and I won't be able to do anything with photos for a little while. Bah.

And then I'm casting on a cabled cardigan. Hopefully. If someone can show me how to do the specific Cast on it calls for. /facepalm

Chevron Scarf

...I get the addiction now. I'm finally making a Chevron Scarf from Last Minuet Knitted Gifts out of BMFA STR Lightweight Blarney Stone (I love that colorway) and Jabberwocky. Gorgeous colors. Here's Jabberwocky:

And I CO'd the scarf around 12, so after 4 ish hours I am here on the scarf:

I'd be further along but I did want to finish:

THis pair of Monkey's. I think it's a Fleece Artist colorway but I am not 100% sure.

But the Chevron scarf? I have a feeling I'll be making a few (not all at once). It also helps me work on my 101 in 1001 list item #79 which is to complete 20 projects from my Ravelry Que. I'd knit more on it but my hands are starting to hurt and I've work soon. Have a great day!

(I'm drooling over the colors).
