I used to get all my best ideas before bed, during that half awake state. Poetry, images, it seems to come easier then. I kept a notebook by the bed so if I thought of something really good I could write it down and not worry about forgetting it by morning. ;)
What inspires me is time off of work and lots of money. Other then that I read lots of blogs to get cute ideas of things to do.
Seeing other people's knitted/crafted items (like your projects on ravelry!) and reading blogs. People's blogs are esp. inspiring!
I agree with Carolyn browsing through FO's on Rav gives me tons of ideas.
