I only have 6, count them SIX DAYS until I see my Hubby again!!!!! I hate boot camp. Minor panic earlier in the week, with all the fires going on in San Diego I had heard rumors that Graduation was going to be held off but, HA HA I didn't believe them and turns out the rumors were wrong. Thank god. So my hubby will be a Marine on Nov. 2nd. Which means I get to se ehim on Nov 1st!!!! Whew.
I finished my Pumpkin socks (alas, no pictures yet) and cast on another pair from previous skeins of yarn to use them up so I can take them off my stash.
No new news on Intolerable Cruelty being completed, I haven't had knitting class in 2 weeks since the owners husband had cancer removal surgery from his stomach. I think I'm going to have to figure out the rest on my own and I am TERRIFIED that I'm going to F it up. Sigh. I'm sleepy for some unknown reason, so I'm going to go look at the amount of homework I should be doing and then start knitting.

LALALALA CANT HEAR YOU
Time for an UPDATE! Woooo.
Are we excited yet?! SO! I finished my socks on Wednesday using yarn from The Hand Painted Sheep (dusk). Go check Laura's site out, she is teh roxsors. :) So here are my socks in all their lovely goodness!
Ta Daaa! Pretty no? I also started Knitty's Intolerable Cruelty on Thursday and while I do have a picture, it's not current anymore since I've been knitting like MAD on it since I started. (5 hours Friday, 3 hours Saturday). I'm MUCH farther along.
Much. I'm little over 7 inches. Weeeee. I've felted the scrap bag I was working on and now it's sitting in my bathtub drying. Here it is pre felting:
I'm pretty pleased with how it all came out. Not too bad. I also bought yarn. Sock yarn to be exact. I knew I should not but...the inner part of my soul that only lives for October and all it implys jumped up and SCREAMED to get it. Look. It's Pretty.
HOW I ask you was I supposed to resist? Yes I know I have a ton of sock yarn I've not used yet (Lisa Souza, Socks that Rock and Shaffer Anne) but with those I feel like doing only st-st socks isn't using them to their full potential. I'm going to try Monkey socks from Knitty with the Lisa Souza eventually. Promise.

Fall
I love fall. I love everything about it (except the spiders). The colors and the rare, cloudy, rainy days like...TODAY! I'm sitting here in my hand-knit sweater (Cable Trim Pullover) and in my hand-knit socks (the first pair I ever made and they are still the most comfortable and fit the best...) and it's cloudy outside! Yea!
My mom and I are going down to a quilt store this afternoon then a Tea Parlor/House to check it out for a possible wedding/reception site.
And it's CLOUDY outside!!!!! Sooo happy!
In knitting news, last night at class I had to rip back 40 rows on the Sparkle Bolero because i read the pattern wrong (cry) but now it's on track and I don't feel like avoiding it like the plague. This is good. I worked on my new sock (just a st-st one they are so easy to do and keep me busy) during most of my classes yesterday...except at the knitting one. LoL. Once I get around to taking them, I'll post pictures of everything. But for now, I'm going to knit and look at the sky. BEAUTIFUL!

New Project!
Finally! Finally I've started on the Vogue Knitting (fall 2006) Cable Trim Pullover-also known as "alpaca sweater". Last night in class I cast on worked the k2,p2 rib then realized that-duh- on the next row you knit th e knits, and purl the purls. By that time I had knit my swatches (zomg) and realized my mistake class was over. On the swatches, I knit loose. The pattern calls for size 2 and 3 needles. So, we are decreasing the number of stitches cast on and using the 2 needle through out (to save me from the horrors of 1,0, or 00 needles). Anyway, I got home at 8:30pm and fell asleep. I woke up around 8:30 am (apparently I needed 12 hours of sleep) and stared at the messed up ribbing for awhile. To rip or not to rip that is the question. Damn it, I've been obsessing over this sweater for a month now and by god, I want it done correctly! I ripped. Two whole rows. Then re-cast on and k2,p2 then realized at the end of the first row I messed up somewhere and had to rip back. Being a little stressed at this point I knit a row on the Alpaca Shawl (which I fixed at faire-hazza to the spinner!) and felt much better. I then cast the sweater back on and... I suppose I ought to do more than just that.

Bamboo Shirt
Tonight is my knitting class (in an hour or so) and I've knitted up most of the front of my Bamboo shirt, I just have to start the decreases etc.. I've also started on my mom's felted bag and have worked it up a few inches. Yea. I'm really tired right now and really don't want to go to my knititng class (so sleepy) but...it's my knitting class!
Since I'm living on campus come this fall (neat!) I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue at my Monday night knitting class. I might have to switch to Thursday nights but that would be with a whole different group of ladies (who I am sure are all really nice) and i like the one's in my class now. If I can finagle my school schedule around so that I'm going to school Tuesday-Friday, I'd be set...but...I don't think there's many Wednesday only classes. Worry worry worry. mabey i ought to take a nap before class. That sounds lovely.

Knit1, Purl1, Knit 1, Purl1
My first ever knitting class went well. I guess I caught Dragon Lady on a bad afternoon and everyone has those day's right? Or maybe I astounded her with my savvy knitting prowess. Yeah. That's it. So I am now a knitter! She taught me continental style, casting on, knit and purl and seed/moss stitch. The other lady who was there (who has been going there for 8 years) said to me that usually new knitters do a whole scarf with just the knit stitch before they are comfortable enough to learn more. Good thing I'm a rebel and kept practicing over the weekend no? Granted the stitches are different than when doing it American style but the basic principle is the same. Knit. Purl.
So I'm almost out of the furry yarn of doom and (obviously) no where near the end of said scarf. Which means I'm going to have to buy more today. My main issue so far is that it seems I keep increasing by one (good thing I count all the freaking time) so I have to decrease just about every other row or so. Ugh. ....The yarn is furry....how do people cope with this on big projects? I woke up this morning with little strand of fur in my mouth! The yarn was across the room all night unless it remembered it was an animal once, got up and attacked me in my sleep...Which seems un-likely since my cat sleeps right dab-smack in the middle of my bed and would notice something moving about my room. He watches all my yarn like it might make a tasty morsel. Thankfully Ramses only attacks the cheap yarn or yarn I give him scraps from . Hmmm...mabey my cat is trying to tell me something about the cheap acrylic....
